Developments
Since we started out back in the late 1990s there have been many developments in the world of Nurse Practitioners. Some fairly rapid and challenging, some that have seemed to take along time but have been well worth the wait such as Nurse Prescribing and Nurse Partnerships, and some that have seemed incredibly slow, like the Regulation of Advanced practice, and some that take a backward step every now and again like the right to request X Rays.
There are many factors that influence the changes we want to see and sometimes we have to wait for consultations etc before we can see the changes implemented
but we should never give up trying to achieve what is in the best interests of patient. Local successes should be shared so we dont have to reinvent the wheel, or write the whole Policy from scratch but can benefit from the expertise of others.
